rook Critchfield Joins Plymouth Growth Partners

Ann Arbor, MI – June 8, 2017 — Plymouth Growth Partners announced today that Brook Critchfield has joined the firm as Partner. Brook will be a member of the Plymouth Growth Partners IV General Partner, as well as the Investment Committee. Plymouth Growth Partners IV is a new successor fund to Plymouth Venture Partners I, II, and III.

Prior to joining Plymouth Growth Partners, Brook was a Vice President at HarbourVest Partners in its Boston office. Previously, Brook served as a Vice President of Chicago-based BAML Capital Access Funds Management, which was acquired by HarbourVest Partners in 2016 and rebranded as HarbourVest Horizon. HarbourVest Horizon designs and manages private equity separate account vehicles for institutional investors focused on the North American lower middle market. HarbourVest Partners is an independent global private markets investment firm with more than $40 billion in assets under management and nine offices globally. Brook was involved in all aspects of the business, including sourcing and executing investments, product development, and fundraising.

Managing Partner Mark Horne said, “We are excited to have Brook join our team as our newest Partner. He brings a strong, disciplined approach to our strategy of building growth stage businesses, and I have no doubt he will add value to the firm right away.” Partner Jeff Barry added, “Brook’s institutional experience is a strong addition to the team, along with the talent and intensity he brings to his work.”

Prior to BAML Capital Access Funds Management, Brook served as an Analyst with JPMorgan Chase in Chicago where he performed valuation and transactional investment banking services for closely held middle market companies. Brook’s experience also includes involvement with an Indiana-based homeland security technology startup and a seed-stage venture fund.

“I’m elated to become a part of the exceptional team at Plymouth,” said Brook. “Plymouth boasts a proven history of generating strong returns for its LPs, and of building capital efficient businesses in an under-served region. In addition to joining an excellent firm, I’m very pleased to return to the Midwest, where my wife and I grew up, and we look forward to raising our family here.”

Brook earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from Albion College. He is married and is moving to Ann Arbor at the end of June with his wife, son, and daughter.
